You arrive at the railway station about half an hour earlier than the scheduled departure time of the train. You are all flustered and worried. Are the number of bags right? Did we pay the cab driver right or did he fleece us as usual! You realize, “What the heck! He did!” That adds to the fluster. The kids don’t walk the straight and narrow path to the place where your passenger bogie would normally arrive on the platform. That leads to some full throated yelling! At last you divest all your (four?) bags on your person and are ready to flop down on the bench and catch your breath. But no – not so fast buddy – your wife has other ideas! With all the anxiety in the world, she will pester you to go and read the reservation chart put up on the notice board and actually crosscheck your names, seat/berth numbers, and age if they appear correctly on the chart!
Amidst a lot of hullabaloo on the platform, which makes your blood pressure do the pole vault, the train finally arrives. At once, there is a mad rush to the entrance of the passenger compartment. Those alighting have to stave off the marauding crowds with a vengeance that would make the ancient warriors proud. After a lot of heaving and groaning, you finally manage to occupy your seat – hot and flustered, but triumphant nevertheless!
